New Maramataka release
Totally stoked to announce the release of Nā Hina, an exclusive maramataka calendar produced with the help of the design and the rest of my marketing colleagues at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Nā Hina is not just a calendar, but a symbol of our cultural heritage and connection to the maramataka, the Māori lunar calendar. I have tracked the maramataka personally since I was a kid as it was something instilled by my parents and theirs. This was something I really explored more during my rongoā Māori studies at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Going from Digital to print
This project has been a great opportunity to transfer my digital maramataka over to print and see if graphically represented with the help of our design team.
This mahi is a culmination of research with support from Dr Rangi Matamua and Meretini Bennett-Huxtable as well as the encouragement from my peers in rongoā Māori circles and my colleagues at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
