Lawton Memorial Burnout event 2008. 20 minutes of burnout fun starting with Dean Moses in his 1957 Chevy. Lots of action that day. Plenty of destroyed tyres, a few blow right out and a few engines taken out too. The event commemorates the death in 2000 of Paraparaumu motorcycle and car enthusiast James Lawton, aged 24 and provides a safe controlled environment to do a burnout. Proceeds had been donated to Project Hope, the organisation aimed at preventing youth suicide.
